Golf Day Prizes, Society Gifts and Corporate Golf Gifts

Organising a golf day is mostly logistics, and prizes are the bit people leave until last. Then you are standing in a pro shop the week before, trying to work out whether three prizes is enough and what you can put on a table that does not look like tat.

We supply prizes and gifts for golf days, societies, captain’s days, charity events and corporate gifting. This page is the practical version of how to do it, and how to get a package from us.

How many prizes do you actually need?

More than most organisers first think, and the reason is simple: a prize table where only the winner gets something leaves most of the field with nothing to play for by the turn.

For a typical field of 40 to 60 players, a workable structure is:

  • Top three in the main competition, scaling in value
  • Nearest the pin and longest drive — cheap to run, and they keep people interested regardless of score
  • Best front nine or back nine — gives the players who had one bad half something to win
  • A booby prize — always remembered, never expensive
  • Something for every player if the budget stretches, even if it is a sleeve of balls and a pack of tees

If you have to choose between one big prize and six decent ones, take the six. The day is better for it.

What makes a good golf day prize

The test is whether it goes in the bag or in a cupboard. Gear that gets used — balls, gloves, headwear, tees, markers, towels — beats engraved glassware every time, and it costs less.

Three things to avoid: anything that needs a size you do not know, anything branded so heavily it becomes a liability, and anything novelty. The golf-themed mug has never once been played with.

Our golf gift boxes work well as prizes precisely because they are pre-packaged and presentable. A table of three boxes at different sizes reads as a proper prize structure without any wrapping, labelling or assembly on the morning.

Budget per head

Event type Typical approach
Society day, members paying their own way A prize fund from entry fees. Three to six prizes, drawn from the same range so the scaling is obvious.
Captain’s day or club competition A headline prize plus several smaller ones, and usually something for every entrant.
Charity or fundraising day Prizes and raffle lots. Raffle items need to look worth a ticket from across the room, which is where packaging earns its keep.
Corporate day or client entertaining A gift for every guest rather than a competition. Consistency matters more than variety — nobody should feel they got the lesser one.

Corporate golf gifts and client gifting

Golf is a reliable corporate gift for one reason: it is specific enough to feel considered, without being personal enough to be awkward. You are not guessing at taste in wine or whisky, and you are not sending something generic with a logo on it.

For client gifting at Christmas, a ready-to-gift box travels and presents well, and it does not require you to know anyone’s clothing size. If you are sending to multiple recipients, tell us how many and we will keep the contents consistent across the batch.

Bespoke packages

For anything above a handful of boxes we will put a package together rather than have you buy off the shelf. Useful things to tell us when you get in touch:

  • Field size or number of recipients
  • Your date, and when you need everything delivered by
  • Total budget, or budget per prize or per head
  • Prize structure if you already have one, or tell us you want a suggestion
  • Whether you need branding or personalisation
  • Delivery address — the club, an office, or split

The more of that you can tell us up front, the closer the first proposal will be.

Get in touch about a golf day or corporate order and we will come back with options and costs.

Common questions

Can you do prizes at short notice?

Often, but tell us the date in your first message rather than after we have priced it up. Lead time is the thing most likely to change what we can offer.

Can we have our club or company name on them?

Personalisation is available on some items. Ask when you enquire and we will tell you what is possible for your numbers and timescale.

Do you do invoicing for clubs and companies?

Get in touch and we will sort out whatever your finance team needs.

What about gloves — we will not know everyone’s size

For prizes this is less of a problem than it sounds, because the winner can tell us afterwards. For gifts to named recipients, we can either go with Medium as the default or build the batch without gloves. Our glove size guide explains the sizing if you want to collect it in advance.
